The Omnipotent God and Omniscient God, writing through Isaiah in Isaiah 45:3 made a crucial promise saying “I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that i, the lord, who call you by your name, am the God of Israel.
Yes, God had made the promise of giving us treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places and the promise is irrevocable, but the real problem is our in ability to access these treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places.
In this segment of our study therefore, it is my prayer for you that your eyes of understanding should be opened to know or realize that God had promised to give us treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places.
It is our responsibility top seek to know what it takes to access these treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places. In reality, some Christians are really living in supper affluence, commanding treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places.
However and often, most other Christians are living in abject poverty, far below their redemptive right in Christ because of their ignorance and their inability to access the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places.
As said, the major problem lies inability to access these treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places. As much as we all desire to enjoy these treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, it is necessary that we heed Hebrew 6:12.
That verse, (referring to Hebrew 6:12) which says, “That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises”.
Before going ahead to look at some Bible characters that really accessed and enjoyed the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, it is necessary to point out one thing very crucial.
That crucial issue is the fact that the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places is but a promise. However, One unfortunate issue is that some claim the promise, but they deny God that made the promise.
The starting point in accessing or partaking in the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places therefore is to ensure that we are in covenant relationship with God who gave the promise.
Secondly, we must possess what it takes to assess the promise. That is where Hebrew 6:12 comes to play. That verse says, “That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises”.
The first person we shall look at that fully assessed the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places is Daniel. In Babylon, there was a problem as recorded in Daniel 5, “the handwriting on the wall to be precise”.
According to Daniel 5:8-9, the king summoned all the wise men in Babylon as was said, “Then came in all the king’s wise men: but they could not read the writing, nor make known to the king the interpretation thereof”.
Then was king Belshazzar greatly troubled, and his countenance was changed in him, and his lords were astonished. However, the queen told the king about Daniel, as seen in Daniel 5:12.
Here the queen said this of Daniel, “For as much as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will shew the interpretation.
As said of Daniel, that he possessed an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding. So we need to take hold of an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding if ever we are to access the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places.
In other words, it takes our being in possession an excellent spirit, knowledge, and understanding to be able to to access the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places.
The second character was the man called Bezalel son of Uri. The book of Exodus 31:2-5 revealed, God told Moses saying, “See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,
And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts — to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of craftsmanship.
Moses reporting about the same said in Exodus 35:30-34, saying, “then Moses said to the Israelite, “See, the Lord has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts —
To make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic craftsmanship. And he has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others.
Apart from an excellent spirit, another Bible character was Solomon, and as it was recorded in 1 Kings 4:29-30 which says, “and God gave Solomon wisdom and exceedingly great understanding, and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore.
Thus, Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the men of the East and all the wisdom of Egypt. Confirming that, the book of Proverbs 4:7 said this of wisdom, saying, “Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding”.
Prophet Isaiah equally said in Isaiah 33:6 saying, ‘wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, And the strength of salvation; The fear of the Lord is His treasure.
Solomon also in Proverbs 24:3-4 testified of wisdom, saying, “through wisdom a house is built, And by understanding it is established; By knowledge the rooms are filled With all precious and pleasant riches.
Finally, another Bible character we should follow that fully assessed the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places was Joseph as seen in Genesis 39.
In Genesis 39:1-6, it was said , “Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there.
The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master, the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand.
So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority. So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake;
And the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the field. Thus, he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand, and he did not know what he had, except for the bread which he ate.
If we are ever going to access the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places we should therefore ensure that we are in possession of an excellent spirit of God, wisdom and understanding and as well as the favor of God. Shalom!.
