Today in Christianity, there are many so-called men and women of God, their ministry or teachings are destroying the kingdom rather than building it. One of such men is Abel Damina.
Recently, I came across one of his messages on YouTube, which made me to be highly disturbed. I was highly disturbed because pastor Abel Damina was no longer the man of God he used to be
He was once or years ago one of the men of God that was highly respected before, and personally, I took time to listen to his messages, but now I have stopped listening to his messages for a reason.
I am concerned as every other sincere Christians just as apostle Paul was concerned that made him to write to Timothy as seen in 2 Tim 2:16-19. Paul wrote to Timothy, saying, But shun profane and idle babbling, for they will increase to more ungodliness. And their message will spread like cancer.
Paul warned about Hymenaeus and Philetus, who he said have strayed concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the faith of some. False messages of Hymenaeus and Philetus according to Paul caused the overthrow the faith of some Christian at the time of Paul.
In the same way, the false messages of pastor Abel Damina, if left unchecked, are capable of causing the overthrow of the faith of some as Abel Damina has totally deviated from the Biblical truth.
One of his recent false messages that went viral on the net was the message in which he was quoted saying that “sin doesn’t take a man to hell – the believer can never go to hell no matter what”.
I was compelled to react to the above message because Abel Damina seems to have a spiritual problem that needs to be looked into and fixed because his recent messages are capable of overthrowing the faith of some.
In that viral video in which he said that “sin doesn’t take a man to hell – the believer can never go to hell no matter what”. Abel Damina is really showing that he lacked spiritual understanding of the scripture as that message is totally false as it contradicted the bible.
It is totally wrong to pick only one verse of the bible and interpret it without considering what was said before and after the verse. The verse Abel Damina was trying to interpret was Hebrew 13:5 which says, “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He, Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Abel Damina particularly majored his message on verse 4b, where God promised, saying “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” The new international version puts it this way, saying “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
As I said, it is only men and women that lacked a deeper understanding of the bible that only pick one verse of the bible and make it a subject. This is not to be so because we should use the scriptures to interpret scripture.
Moreover, we should understand what was said before and after a verse if we are to interpret a verse very well. The problem with Abel Damina and with so many Christians is claiming God’s promise without fulfilling the conditions of the promise.
In other words, there is no promise of God without conditions attached. The conditions are what we must do before God will fulfill the promises. Abel Damina was wrong because he failed to consider the condition set out by God before His promise or vow in verse 4b will be effective.
Please look at the Hebrew 13 again, you will observe that verses 4 and 5 go together. Looking at Hebrew 13:4, and it says, Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
Verse 4 specifically stated that Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled. What Abel Damina is insulating is that Christian who choose to defile their marriage bed without repentance, that God will still welcome them with open arms.
The verse went further to say that whoremongers, and adulterers, God will judge. Abel Damina is insulating that there is no way God will judge or send to hell whoremongers and adulterers.
