Listening to late Dr. Myles Monroe of blessed memory speaks on the need to pay attention to manufacturer’s manual I then remembered how I bought an electronic sometime ago.
As I plugged the electronic on light, the transformer blows. It was then I looked at the manual and was ashamed to know that that there were a warning and specification that instructed that I should use step down if I am living in certain tropics.
I damaged the electronic because I failed to heed the manufacturer’s manual. In the same way, the manufacturer or originator of marriage has a manual which specifically gave the instruction or principles of how marriage should be run to get maximum benefit from it.
In other words, the reason why there are lots of marriage failure, why divorce is on the increase is because couples involved in such marriages fail or refuse to abide by the instruction of the manufacturer.
That is to say that if you want to make your marriage work and as well as exciting then you must run your marriage following the manual of the marriage creator. Couples made shipwreck of their marriage once they broke certain principles of marriage.
To understand this article, we need to go back to the beginning of creation, to the creation of first marriage on earth. Whether you are keen on Christian or not you need to pay attention to what the God of the bible said in the book of Genesis 2.
The first principle is for couples to know the purpose of God in instituting marriage. We can see the purpose in Genesis 2:18 And the LORD God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
From the above verse, God after creating man, he found out that the man was lonely and that gave GOD concern and HE decided to provide him with a helper comparable to him.
So one major reason for instituting marriage is for companionship and a man’s need for marriage is for companionship. Any marriage in which a man could not get that companionship, such marriage will surely collapse.
As a woman, are you providing the needed companionship your husband needed from you? A man is not complete without this companionship from his wife and as a woman, for your husband not to get the needed companionship from you means that you are not fulfilling your obligation to the man.

The next principle can be seen in Genesis 2:22-23 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman and brought her unto the man. And Adam said this is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman because she was taken out of Man.
A closer look at the above verse we will see what every man who wishes to enjoy his marriage to the fullness must necessarily do. And Adam said this is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. That is to say that every man must see his wife as the bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh.
Any man who sees his wife as the bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh would never raise his hands to beat his wife (domestic violence). It is men who don’t see their wives as the bone of their bone and flesh of their flesh that raises their hands to hit their wives.
The next principle can be seen in Genesis 2:21-23 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept, and He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman because she was taken out of Man.” From these scriptures, we can see that the woman was taken out of a man.
We also saw that Adam was formed from the dust and GOD berated upon the man but the woman, GOD took her from Adam using one rib from Adam. The meaning is that no woman is complete without a man.
That is the reason why you see women, no matter how wealthy they are, they are still lonely and incomplete without men. Practically, try and ask those women that their husband divorced, and they will tell you that they feel miserable.
So as a woman, no matter whom you are, your completeness is from a man and you will never feel complete unless you are married and submit to a man. In other words, no matter who you are as a woman, your life and marriage is meanness without your submission to a man your husband.
Another principle can equally be seen in Genesis 2:24 Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh. As a man, the success of your marriage only starts when you leave your father and mother.
No man will ever have a successful and exciting marriage that has not left their father and mother and after leaving his father and mother, the man must become one flesh with the wife.
The real problems we have in marriages are from couples who have never become one flesh with their wives.
As long as a man is not one flesh with his wife, he can raise his hands to beat her while a woman who is not one flesh with her husband will open mouth anyhow to abuse.
In conclusion, we have seen that whether you are religious or not, if you fail to give heed to the instruction and directives given by the originator of marriage, your marriage will surely fail.
