While Jesus was on earth, he operated the creative and divine wisdom of God that generated manifold works. No wonder all and sundry said this of Jesus.
We can see what they said of Jesus in Mark 6:2 where they said of Jesus, “From whence hath this man these things? And what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands”?
Solomon, the wisest King, who ever lived on earth, equally confirmed this in Proverbs 4:7 which says, “wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding”.
Invariably, where we are in this life is a function of where wisdom, knowledge, and understanding we operated had placed us. Those operating in greater wisdom, good knowledge, and understanding are flying high in life.
What it means is that if we are able to grab this divine wisdom, good knowledge, and understanding, we will as well fly higher in life as well. Please, make no mistake about it.
Instead of envying those flying higher in life far above us, we should study them and ask ourselves what made these people fly higher above us. If we are sincere, we will observe that they possessed and operated certain wisdom, good knowledge, and understanding above us.
Again Solomon confirmed this in Proverbs 8:12-16 which says, “I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions. By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.
Wisdom speaking further says, “I love them that love me, and those that seek me early shall find me. Riches and honor are with me; yea, durable riches, and righteousness”.
Please the wisdom being referred to is divine and creative wisdom of God, not intellectualism or worldly wisdom that as James 3:15-17 puts it, “This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic.
For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
Solomon, in Proverbs 9:10, says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding”. We can’t hate God and expect to operate in the divine wisdom of God.
One instance we can see in the Bible is Joseph. By reason of the wisdom of God in him, he was catapulted from prison to the palace as the prime minister of Egypt.
In the book of Psalms 105:17-22 which recounted the story of Joseph and the people of Israel, it says, God sent a man before them — Joseph — who was sold as a slave.
In Egypt, they hurt his feet with fetters, He was laid in irons. Until the time that his word came to pass, The word of the Lord tested him. The king sent and released him, The ruler of the people let him go free.
Furthermore, the king of Egypt made him lord of his house, And the ruler of all his possessions, To bind his princes at his pleasure And teach his elders’ wisdom.
Also in the book of Daniel chapter 5, there was a problem and to be specific handwriting on the wall which no other human being could interpret. In Daniel 5:10-12, which says, The queen, because of the words of the king and his lords, came to the banquet hall.
The queen spoke, saying, “O king, live forever! Do not let your thoughts trouble you, nor let your countenance change. There is a man in your kingdom, in whom is the Spirit of the Holy God.
And in the days of your father, light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, were found in him; and King Nebuchadnezzar your father — your father the king — made him chief of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers.
The queen further said this of Daniel, “Inasmuch as an excellent spirit, knowledge, understanding, interpreting dreams, solving riddles, and explaining enigmas were found in this Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar, now let Daniel be called, and he will give the interpretation.”
True to the words of the queen, as we can see in Daniel 5:13-17, says, “Then Daniel was brought in before the king. The king spoke, and said to Daniel, “Are you that Daniel who is one of the captives from Judah, whom my father the king brought from Judah?
I have heard of you, that the Spirit of God is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you. Now the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make known to me its interpretation, but they could not give the interpretation of the thing.
And I have heard of you, that you can give interpretations and explain enigmas. Now if you can read the writing and make known to me its interpretation, you shall be clothed with purple and have a chain of gold around your neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.”
Then Daniel answered, and said before the king, “Let your gifts be for yourself, and give your rewards to another; yet I will read the writing to the king, and make known to him the interpretation.
Again, in the Bible, King Nebuchadnezzar was perhaps one of the proudest and most arrogant kings, yet in Daniel 2:46-48 after Daniel interpreted the dream to King Nebuchadnezzar, Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face, prostrate before Daniel, and commanded that they should present an offering and incense to him.
The king answered Daniel, and said, “Truly your God is the God of gods, the Lord of kings, and a Reveler of secrets since you could reveal this secret.”
Then the king promoted Daniel and gave him many great gifts, and he made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief administrator over all the wise men of Babylon.
It is obvious, once we are in possession of divine wisdom, good knowledge, and understanding, even kings and prominent men and women will be seeking us. Are you ready? Shalom!
