Jesus Christ, while on earth, once made a profound statement in John 8:32 saying, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
In this life, most people, their greatest need in life is freedom, yet they rejected or ignored what makes them free. Jesus, equally emphasized this saying, “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed”.
Please what we are talking about here is spiritual freedom that is gotten only by true knowledge of Jesus Christ the truth. Many have political freedom, or economic freedom, but are in bondage spiritually.
That being the case, if we are ever going to amount to anything in this kingdom, what determines it is the amount of knowledge and understanding of truth at our disposal or that we command.
It is for that purpose that the devil launches his greatest arsenal to prevent people from knowing the truth. As 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 puts it, “But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
Whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them?
In other words, the devil tries and blindfold the minds of those who are perishing, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ should shine upon their minds.
As for those who believed, the devil tries to use ignorance or lack of knowledge and understanding of the truth to keep them in bondage because it is our knowing the truth which is able to be made free.
To this end, the first truth that needs to sink into our subconscious mind is the fact that all that we see here on earth, they all have their root in the spirit rhyme`, meaning that the spirit world controls and directs the physical world.
Talking about the truth, it is widely said that every other thing in the world may vary in the end, but the truth is the only thing that ever remains constant. Even Apostle Paul confirmed this in 2 Corinthians 13:8 where he said, “For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth”.
It was for that purpose that the wise Solomon admonished us in Proverbs 23:23 saying, “Buy the truth, and do not sell it”, Also wisdom and instruction, and understanding.
One of the major reasons we should strive to buy the truth is because of what Paul said in 2 Timothy 3:13 where he said, “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived”.
Another reason is that these evil men/women, hold the truth in unrighteousness; They changed the truth of God into a lie and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever.
In addition, Paul equally warned that these evil men/seducers have a form of godliness but deny its power. And from such people, Paul advised that we should turn away! 2 Tim 3:5. Also, according to Paul, he remarked in 2 Tim 3:7-8 that these evil men/women are ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth
He further gave one instance of two men who are ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth as Jannes and Jambres who resisted Moses, saying that “so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith”.
Having said that, it is obvious that if we are ever going to amount to anything in this kingdom, then we must be in command of adequate knowledge and understanding of the truth, we shall know the truth.
Moreover, it is highly unfortunate that most church people lack knowledge of the truth or are ignorant of the truth. It is for that reason that they are easy prey and victim of these evil men and women who possess or camouflages as pastors.
No wonder, even the Almighty God lamented in Hosea 4:6 saying, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children”.
Also, one thing that is worthy to note is about the two people Paul mentioned in 2 Timothy 3:8 named Jannes and Jambres who withstood Moses,
So, equally do these men/women also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith? And they shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall be turned unto fables.
Apostle Paul made one remark in 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 saying, “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
However, these sorcerers and diviners cannot boast of that as they rather always use persuasive words of human wisdom, but they lack the demonstration of the Spirit and of the power of God.
Moreover, according to Jesus in John16:13 He said, Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
In other words, the Holly Spirit is the Spirit of Truth in that the only way we will know the truth is, for the Holy Spirit to be with us one can claim to know the truth without the indwelling Holy Spirit.
It is highly unfortunate that what Timothy 4:3 said is currently a reality in our world today. It says, For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
What will help us is to obey what 2 Timothy 2:15 told us saying, Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Shalom!.
