This is the second part of our discussion on the topic “and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”.
I hope that you have read the first part for a better understanding. If you have not read part one, GO HERE to read part one.
In this segment of our study, I wish to point out that we rise and fall in life depending on our level of knowledge and understanding of the truth.
One thing pertinent we should note or realize is that having enough information about the truth or knowing much about the truth is not the same as practical knowledge of the truth.
In this life, one of the greatest onslaughts of the devil has to do with his desire to prevent many people from having adequate knowledge and understanding of the truth.
In other words, most activities that are going on in most places of worship, especially places called churches, are activities with people that are ignorant or people who lack adequate knowledge and understanding of the truth.
It may be for that reason that the writer of psalms lamented in Psalms 82:5 saying, “They do not know, nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are unstable”.
The Almighty God equally lamented in Isaiah 5:13a, saying, “Therefore my people have gone into captivity Because they have no knowledge”
You, that is reading this article, I wish to ask you this very pertinent question. The question is, “do you have adequate knowledge and understanding of the truth”? Secondly, are you definitely sure that you are free indeed?
The reason for this question is that there are many people in our churches who think and assume that they know the truth, but in actual sense, they are ignorant of the truth and therefore are still living in bondage.
The fact that still remains that is the major reason is that many people get attached to or go to so-called churches in which the pastors are impostors and are ignorant of the truth themselves.
As we saw in part one, there are many evil men and women who are demonically gifted with sorcery and divination who had taken over most of the so-called churches as they camouflaged themselves as pastors.
For that reason, there is no way impostors who camouflaged as pastors, who are ignorant of the truth, can impact the truth on other people. They can’t give what they don’t have.
However, we should realize that it may be for that reason that the promise of God was definite about pastors saying in Jeremiah 3:15 ” And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding”.
That is to say, the major way of knowing a true pastor is his/her ability to communicate the mind of God to people, feeding people with true knowledge and understanding, (knowing the truth).
Moreover, the greatest problem we have at hand is that most people don’t bother to have adequate knowledge (spiritual knowledge), rather they run after miracles and prophecies.
Since these sorcerers are providing the people with such things they wish to see and hear. By using the power of divination, they can tell people the most secret things in their lives, resulting in the majority being deceived into falling victim to their manipulations.
One great tragedy of this situation is that these sorcerers and diviners who camouflaged as pastors are so vocal on social media that they drew people’s attention by demonstrating the so-called accurate prophecies using the power of divination.
I wish to point out that this issue is not new because such incidents took place even in the time of the apostles. We can see such an incident in Acts 8:9-20, which says,
“But there was a certain man, called Simon, who previously practiced sorcery in the city and astonished the people of Samaria, claiming that he was someone great,
To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the great power of God.” And they heeded him because he had astonished them with his sorceresses for a long time.
But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized.
Please note what happened in the above portion of the Bible, we are told that the people of Samaria all gave heed to Simon the sorcerer, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the great power of God.
In the above verses, the people of Samaria, because they lacked true knowledge of the truth, they mistook the actions of Simon the sorcerer saying, “This man is the great power of God.
Please, another thing you should note about these sorcerers who camouflage themselves as pastors is that they use the demonic gits of sorcery to make merchandise of people.
Look at what happened in the city of Samaria as we can see from verse 14 of Acts 8:14 “Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them,
Who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money,
Saying, “Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.” But Peter said to him, “Your money perish with you because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money!
What I am trying to bring out is that to have adequate knowledge and understanding, we must necessarily obey the instruction of Solomon as seen in Proverbs 23:23 which says, “Buy the truth, and do not sell it, Also wisdom and instruction and understanding”.
Are you ready and willing to pay the price to buy the truth? To be continued. Shalom!
