Remember the topic, “To Fulfill Destiny, we Need to Pursue, Overtake as to Recover All”. Yes, that article really sparked some actions in the lives of many people who, after reading that article, really took personal action to pursue and overtake their enemies.
However, after they overtook their enemies, some could not recover any of what belonged to them from the enemies. The major reason was that they met a strong man that had built a very formidable siege and a stronghold.
In other words, many are far from fulfilling their destiny because they meet stiff opposition from the strong man which they have to contend with. For some people, their destiny got crashed as a result of opposition.
In reality, many drew back and surrendered, as they were not ready and willing to confront the strong man. Some even magnified the strong man, as the 10 spies did in Numbers 13:31-33. But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.”
And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature.
“There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants), and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”
If we are really going to recover all that the enemy has stolen from us, then we must possess the spirit of Caleb as demonstrated in Numbers 1330 “Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”
Jesus himself gave us insight on how to deal with the strong man in Mark 3:27 “No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house”.
That is to say, all we need to do is to bind the strong man. Of a truth, I am not saying or assuring you that it is easy to bind the strong man to overrun him to recover all. This calls for good knowledge of spiritual warfare.
The starting point is to ensure that we have a personal relationship with God and, as well as living right. That will make it easy for God to delight in us.
Once we are assured that God delights in us, then we can take our stand like Joshua and Caleb in Numbers 14:6-9 “But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes;
And they spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: “The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land.”If the LORD delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land which flows with milk and honey.’
“Only do not rebel against the LORD, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the LORD is with us. Do not fear them.”
Moreover, before we can confront and subdue the strong man, we must ensure that we use the right weapons. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 gave us the type of weapons, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
In reality, the problem with many people is ignorance of who they are and God’s provision or what to do to take possession of our possessions. As a result, God lamented in Hosea 4:6a My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
In other words, we must go for adequate knowledge of what to do or how to subdue the strong man to take possession of our possessions. Shalom!.
