This is the second part of our discourse building yourselves up on your most holy faith. In part one, we looked at the need for every believer that wish to succeed in this kingdom must take personal responsibility to guard his or her faith and should equally avoid anything that could cause his or her faith to fail.
In this segment, we shall continue our discourse on building yourselves up on your most holy faith. I hope you have read part one for a better understanding. If not PLEASE GO HERE. Today, some people have suffered destiny failure because they allowed their faith to fail.
In other words, some failed because they failed to take personal responsibility to guard their faith against the onslaught of the devil. Obviously, every believer must take personal responsibility as well as make a conscious effort to guard his or her faith against “faith failure” and as well as build his or her faith as Jude admonished us.
Going further, we shall equally take personal responsibility by looking at what Paul said in 2 Corinthians 4: 4. He said “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
You see, apart from the onslaught of the devil against our faith, another thing the devil does is to blindfold the mind of many from believing which by, so doing is to prevent the light of the glorious gospel of Christ from shining unto them.
In reality, the devil fights to ensure that he keeps our faith throttled by not allowing us to believe the true gospel. In other words, the devil tries to ensure that we are victims and casualties of spiritual ignorance.
That is to say, the bane of the majority of Christians today is spiritual ignorance. Even God lamented in Hosea 4:6a saying, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”.
In other words, spiritual ignorance is one of the greatest tragedies in Christendom as many believers are spiritually ignorant, yet they claim to know what they knew nothing about or that the knowledge they have are not relevant to the issues of life they are passing through.
Remember what I said in part one in the story of my life I shared. There was something I omitted in that story that you need to learn something. While as I hated mathematics, I loved literature in English and as well-loved its teacher who in turn loved me. My examination score in that subject was between 80% and 95%.
However, I dropped doing the subject before my external final exam because my guidance and counselor in that school said that that subject was not relevant to the course I wished to pursue in the university. Instead, she warned me seriously that I should pay extra attention to mathematics.
Obviously, that is the point, many people spent their time on issues that are irrelevant to the pursuit of their destiny. Particularly, they spend time listening to messages or teachings of some men of GOD, men of God that had nothing to offer them, men of God that only entertains them with sweet words while they avoid and rebel against men of God that holds the keys to their destiny.
In particular, I wish to warn you about one Dr. Sunday Adelaja or DSA as he is popularly called. The said DSA has lost touch with God and as such has lost relevance. As such, he is currently preaching heresies, his messages and teachings are capable of destroying or overthrowing your faith rather than building it.
What I am trying to bring out is that we need to go for spiritual knowledge and understanding on issues relevant to the pursuit of our destiny. As such, we need to locate men of God that God has positioned to feed us with relevant knowledge and understanding.
We should also take precaution to guard against false men of God whose messages are irrelevant to the pursuit of our destiny, because their messages and teachings are capable of destroying or overthrowing our faith.
In summary, we should ensure that we don’t allow our mind to be blindfolded by the god of this world. Rather, we should go for relevant knowledge and understanding. Jesus himself said in John 8:32 “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”
The end of part two, please keep date with us as we will continue our discourse in part three.
