During the Old Testament, especially in God’s dealings with the people of Israel, if you read the books of Exodus 34:13; Deuteronomy 7:5; Deuteronomy 12:3, here you will see that God was specific and detailed in his instructions to the people of Israel.
That specific instruction can be seen in the above Bible passages example, Exodus 34:13 says, “But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves”
The reason God instructed them saying that they shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves brings us back to the need to know and understand the mysteries of altars.
From various earlier writings or posts about altars, we have either evil altars or godly alters. Before I continue, it is necessary to point out that it is unfortunate that many people, even some men of God like Abel Damina is totally ignorant about the mysteries of altars.
One salient question that needs to be asked and answered is, “why was God interested in their altars”? God, who knows the implication of allowing evil altars to continue to exist where the people of Israel have to dwell.
God, therefore, was specific in His instruction that they shall destroy their altars, break down their images, cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.
A similar instruction was equally given to Gideon as we can see in Judges 6:25 where God specifically instructed Gideon saying, “Take thy father’s young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it”
The point I wish to make here is that, like Gideon, many people are suffering under the weight of evil altars from their father’s house. These altars may have existed for centuries or years without remembering, even though some people may not even be aware of them, just as Gideon was not aware of his father’s altars.
For other people, the evil altars dealing hard with them are altars that were raised in the place they are residing or their offices. What do you think is the reason some people invite men/women of God, some even invite fetish doctors, to dedicate their new offices or residences?
I know what I am saying because I was one person that was once a victim and suffered great casualties as a result of an evil altar that existed in my place of residence.
That altar may have been enacted by the first person that lived in that house or any of the individuals that hitherto had occupied that flat since the building existed.
I wish to testify that I only started to enjoy relief after I took steps and overthrow and destroy every evil altar in that house, and in its place enacted a godly altar. That is exactly what many individuals ought to do, but ignorance of the mysteries of altars had not allowed them.
I wish to share a real-life story. In a city near where I reside, there was a block of eight flats. The landlord was living in the topmost two flats with his family.
Six families that occupied the other six flats, since they packed into that building, were having one setback or the other. Four of the tenants that came to reside in a block of flats came with their vehicles. However, three of the tenants had to sell their vehicles while one tenant packed and jerked his own vehicle, all because they could not maintain the vehicles.
The worst aspect was that four of the young women in that building were all barren. In fact, the tenants in that compound suffered one misery or the other. It happened that the landlord erected a very big overhead water tank and was filling the tank almost every week.
In other words, tenants were using water in abundance free of charge as they are not paying for water. Every festive period, the landlord allowed them free rent that month. In fact, what the landlord was doing for the tenants made them happy about the landlord.
However, one time the landlord traveled abroad on a business trip and one tenant convinced other tenants of the need to wash the overhead tank, which was never washed for over Six years. The tenants prevented the wife of the landlord who wanted to refill the water tank.
It happened after one of the tenants climbed inside the overhead tank, he found out that a live tortoise was inside the water tank. He alerted the rest and the tortoise was brought out and killed.
However, killing the tortoise did not go well with the landlord when he came back, as he immediately served all the six tenants a quit notice to leave his house within three months.
The issue happened around the month of June, but the man gave them back the whole year’s rent that they paid. After they all vacated that building, within three months of leaving that building, the four barren women all became pregnant.
The tenants that could not maintain their vehicles all bought new cars. It was during the dedication of the child of one of the women that the pastor revealed what happened. He told them that the landlord had used the live tortoise to raise the evil altar.
If that tortoise was not killed, they would all be crawling like tortoises inside a cage in their businesses. Moreover, as long as the women were drinking water from that tank, their wombs were polluted.
That was the power of the evil altar for you. Another incident happened in the bible, in the book of 2 King 3:26-27. In that passage, there was a battle between Israel and the Moabites.
And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too sore for him, he took with him seven hundred men that drew swords, to break through even unto the king of Edom: but they could not.
Then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead and offered him as a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land.
In other words, God who knew the implication of allowing the existence of evil altars gave Israel instruction saying, “But you shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves”
You should therefore ensure that you don’t allow evil altars to exist around you, “But you shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves.” Shalom!
