Looking at this fact of life, “we are all operating at different levels or phases of life, and we most time, we are the one that determines the level of life we operate.”
In this life, before we can move from one level of life to another level, we must necessarily pass the equations or exams of life of a lower level before moving to the next or higher level.
These These equations or examinations of life all appear in forms of challenges (battles of life) or call it mountains. Not until we boldly face or confront and conquered these challenges/battles of life or mountains that we are allowed to move to the next level.
No wonder many are failures or stagnant in life going round in circles because they totally avoid facing or confronting their mountains or challenges/ battles of life.
Some run away from facing or confronting life challenges while some people even surrender to their challenges of life. That is, they surrender to fate, accepting everything that the devil throws at them.
For this reason and owing to the fact that this life is not fair at all, this is because it does not deliver to us what we deserve but delivers to us only what we demand.
We must therefore necessarily take responsibility and face or confront our battles of life or our mountain/challenges if we must have success and breakthrough in life.
Let’s take our reference and our background from the story of David and Goliath as seen in 1 Samuel 17:1 – end. This is a story we all know, it is the story of David, a shepherd boy who was asked to bring food to his brothers on the battlefield.
It was while on the battlefield that a champion went out from the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, from Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.
While David was on that battlefield, Goliath came and stood and the Philistine said, “I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together.” When Saul and all Israel heard these words of the Philistine, they were dismayed and greatly afraid.
This was the very challenge that faced the armies of Israel, which King Saul and none of his armies could not confront not until this shepherd boy called David accepted and confronted Goliath, he fought and conquered Goliath.
After David confronted Goliath and won, 1 Samuel 18:6-7 says, Now it had happened as they were coming home when David was returning from the slaughter of the Philistine,
That the women had come out of all the cities of Israel, singing, and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tambourines, with joy, and with musical instruments. So the women sang as they danced and said: “Saul has slain his thousands, And David his ten thousand.”
That shepherd boy David, what launched or catapulted him into the limelight is his accepting and confronting Goliath unlike King Saul and the rest of the Israelites who were afraid and avoided confronting Goliath.
In the same way, every one of us has a Goliath of life and battles facing and confronting us. We will surely be catapulted from one level of life to another level if we will boldly like David face or confront these challenges and win.
However, we must be careful not to confront that Goliath or our battles on our own if we expect to win. I am saying this because there is a popular man of God that is teaching that you don’t need God to succeed.
Also 1 Samuel 2:9 says, “He will guard the feet of His saints, but the wicked shall be silent in darkness “For by strength no man shall prevail”. Proverbs 21:31 the horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.
In our references 1 Samuel 17:43-46 which says, ‘So the Philistine said to David, “Am I a dog that you come to me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. And the Philistine said to David, “Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!”
See David’s reply, “Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.
“This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
David confronted Goliath and conquered him because he has the assurance that God was with him and backs him. This clearly shows that to heed the teaching of DSA and approach your Goliath on your own expecting to win or succeed, you are daydreaming as your Goliath will tear you in pieces.
The success and breakthrough we desire to have, they may come our way by our facing that challenge or battles of life that come our way squarely and conquer them.
We should never again avoid or run away from challenges or battles of life because our success and breakthrough in life may have been packaged in those challenges/battles of life.
We should therefore never again run from our battles of life or challenges, rather, we should boldly confront these challenges/battles of life. Almighty God is backing us, we will conquer them, which will surely make us have success and breakthrough in life. Shalom.
