This is the second part of our discussion on the series “dealing with the facts of life to fulfill destiny”. Hope you have read the first part before continuing this part two for a better understanding.?
If not, GO HERE to read part one. In part one, we looked at two of the facts of life that we must accept and deal with if we must make progress in life. Here we will look at more of the facts of life that we must accept and deal squarely with, in order to make progress in life.
One of such is the fact that “we can never please everybody”. Even Jesus Christ, when he was on earth, could not please everybody because there are people who are pleased with HIS actions, but there are some who hated the same actions with a perfect hatred.
When we live our lives trying to please everybody, we end up pleasing nobody because no matter what we do, people must have something negative to say. The way out is to live an upright life, a life in which the first obligation is to please GOD and then our conscience.
That is to say, we should live a life pleasing to God, with time; people will learn to accept such actions. Another fact of life we must accept and deal with is the fact that “we can never live a life acceptable to everybody”. Like the fact of life above, we can never live a life acceptable to everybody.
Like Joseph in the Bible, when we declare and live our dream, people will surely hate us for that. Look at Genesis 37:5-11 “And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told his brethren: and they hated him yet the more. And he said unto them, hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed:
For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about and made obeisance to my sheaf. And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words.
And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it to his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. And he told his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him and said unto him, what is this dream that thou hast dreamed?
Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth? And his brethren envied him, but his father observed the saying. If we are to live our dream, there are people who will hate us with perfect hatred for that, and the only way for them to accept and be happy with us is to compromise and forget our dreams.
As we can see from the life of Joseph, his brethren hated him because of his dream but later in life, they came to accept and become happy with him as well as bow to him. If Joseph had lived to please his brothers, he would not have told them about his dreams.
And unless we refuse to live our dream, only then would everybody accept and be happy with us. But to do otherwise, they will hate us. The summary of what I am saying is that we should not live a life dictated by others by trying to live to please others to the detriment of pleasing GOD and ourselves.
That is to say, these facts of life still remain, we can never please everybody and everybody will never accept us and be happy with us. The choice is yours to take.
