This is the second part of our discourse on the topic, “deeper knowledge and understanding of the mystery of altars”. I hope that you have read the first part for a better understanding.
Please GO HERE to read part one, which actually is the background of our study. We really need to understand the background of any study before going any further.
VOICES OF ALTARS.
In this segment, we shall be looking at the voices of altars. When we talk about the voice of an altar, we are referring to positive or negative actions that took place for us or against us as a result of blood on the altar. Positive voices or actions if godly altars, while negative voices or actions if evil altars.
As said, we really need a deeper knowledge and understanding of the mystery of altars because we rule by adequate knowledge and understanding of godly altars. As well, evil altars raised against us or in our father’s house can have a devastating impact on us.
First, we shall be looking at the voices of altars. As said, if it is an evil altar, they will be speaking against us while they will only be speakings for us or in our favor if they are godly altars.
For some people, the calamities, and afflictions they are going through in life may be the result of negative voices of evil altars speaking against them, mostly altars from their father’s house that are speaking against them.
In other words, many are stagnated and failures in life because of negative voices of evil altars from their father’s house that are speaking against them.
As long as there are any evil altars that exist and speaking against us, we will never enjoy our lives to the fullest. What do think made God give the Israelites strict instruction in Exodus 34:13, Deuteronomy 7:5, and Deuteronomy 12:3?
In the above verses, God specifically gave them a strict instruction saying “But thus you shall deal with them: you shall destroy their altars, and break down their sacred pillars, and cut down their wooden images, and burn their carved images with fire”.
One practical instance in the Bible was what happened in judges 6. Please read the entire chapter for a better understanding. In the above Bible portions, we can see that Gideon, was destined to be one of the great judges in Israel.
However, the voices of the evil altar in his father’s house caged him. As we can see in Judges 6:12, “When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.”
Judges 6:14-15, says, “Then the Lord turned to him and said,”Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?”
Verse 15 showed that Gideon did not believe his ears of what the angel called him and God’s commission to save Israel. So he said to Him, “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed, my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.”
Actually, God wanted to use Gideon, but cannot do so as long as the altar in his father’s house is standing. This can be seen in the book of Judge 6:25-26.
The above verse says, Now it came to pass the same night that the Lord said to him, “Take your father’s young bull, the second bull of seven years old, and tear down the altar of Baal that your father has, and cut down the wooden image that is beside it;
And build an altar to the Lord your God on top of this rock in the proper arrangement, and take the second bull and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the image which you shall cut down.”
From the above verse, God specifically instructed Gideon to tear down the altar of Baal that his father has, and cut down the wooden image that is beside it.
After tearing down the altar of Baal that his father has, and cutting down the wooden image that was beside it as God instructed, in its place, he was to build an altar to the Lord His God on top of this rock in the proper arrangement.
Furthermore, he was asked to take the second bull and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the image, which he shall cut down. What happened here calls for understanding. Every altar must have a sacrifice placed on it, to give it a voice.
We can see what happened after Gideon obeyed God’s instruction, and how God mightily used him to save Israel from the hand of the Midianite. That is, the voice of the evil altar from his father’s house was silenced to allow the voice of the godly altar to start speaking for him.
The second instance was what happened in Genesis 22 where God demanded from Abraham, his only son as a sacrifice. It said, “Then they came to the place of which God had told him.
And Abraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order; and he bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar, upon the wood. And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.
But the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” So he said, “Here I am.” And He said,”Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”
As seen in Genesis 22:15-18 which said, “Then the Angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time out of heaven, and said: “By Myself, I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son —
Blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore, and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.
In your seed, all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.” All the above are the result of sacrificing his son Isaac on the altar.
This is the end of part two, please keep a date with us for discourse on part three. Shalom!
