In this life, what many people need in life mostly is their freedom. When we are truly free, we can then think and talk about other issues such as success and breakthroughs.
Some are struggling, almost dying in their struggle for success and breakthrough while what they need first is true freedom as the enemy will do everything to continue the siege over our lives.
However, the tragedy is that many will never accept that they are not free, that they need freedom. The same happened while Jesus was on earth, as in John 8:31-37 he once looked and said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
The Jew reacted like many are reacting today, they answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?
Jesus replied, saying, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. NIV
Moreover, there are many people that Jesus had set free, who are living right with God. However, they ignorantly through omission or commission still have the siege and a stronghold of the enemy to contend with.
Most of those people had left their lives to fate, accepting everything the enemy throws at them. It is for that purpose that I am writing this article to challenge us that it is our responsibility to seek the real truth that can set us free.
Or rather to challenge us to see to know the truth that can enable us to enforce our freedom by breaking the siege and strongholds of the enemy.
It is when we are in command of adequate knowledge of our rights and privileges in Christ that we can stand to enforce our freedom by breaking the siege and strongholds of the enemy.
The reason some of us are yet to truly enjoy true freedom is that we are not in command of the truth regarding certain issues of our lives. It is by reason of ignorance that they allowed the devil to take advantage of them.
There are many faithful Christians, even tongue-talking Christians, but by reason of their ignorance, they had allowed the devil to take advantage of them to afflict and buffet them.
The apostle Paul was an apostle that God used marvelously, he gave the reason for taking certain by what he said in 2 Cor 2:11, saying, “lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices”. NK JV
To be truly free, therefore, we must first take responsibility to secure true knowledge and understanding, especially of who we are in Christ and what Christ had done for us.
It is being in command of adequate knowledge and understanding that enables us to enforce our freedom by breaking the siege and strongholds of the enemy.
Real personal deliverance comes from our true knowledge of the truth. Remember what Jesus said in John 8:31, saying, Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
What I am saying is a reality, and I am talking from my own personal experience. Most believers, their problem is that they are fighting this invisible battle blindly. Secondly, some fail to identify or recognize the source of the attack or what gives the strong man the power.
Personally, during my own ordeal, the various lessons I learned from pastor Raphael, Grant of prayer city prayer ministry on spiritual warfare were marvelous. One such lesson was that the only reason the devil succeeds in attacking us is when we break the hedge or when we create a legal ground for the devil.
It is breaking the hedge or creating the legal ground that gave the enemy access to our lives. When we create the legal ground for the devil, he stands on such legal ground to attack or afflict us.
Moreover, to be totally free, or before we can enforce our freedom, all that may be needed from us is to close the windows and gates of our lives that are open that allow the devil access to our lives.
We close the gates by totally removing every legal ground that allows the devil access into our lives. As long as the devil has a legal ground upon which he stands to attack you, you can never enforce your freedom.
This is the end of part one, we shall be discussing in detail how to enforce our freedom in part two. Please keep a date with us. Shalom!
