Apostle Paul writing to Timothy urged him to fight the good fight of faith. We can see this in 1Timothy 6:12 “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses”.
Even though the letter was addressed to Timothy, it is obvious that we, Christian in the present dispensation we are being urged like Timothy to fight the good fight of faith.
However, from the assertion of Paul, it means that there is some bad fight of faith. For instance, a good fight of faith is one that the person still lay hold of eternal life.
That is to say, any fight of faith that the individual loses his or her soul or for short eternal life, that is obvious a bad fight of faith.
This fight of faith is the battles that took place in the rheme of the spirit, but its impacts are manifest physically. In other words, if we conquer spiritually, we enjoy the dividend of our victory physically while the opposite happens when we lost the battle in the rhyme of the spirit.
To fight a good fight of faith, one must first enlist as a good soldier. That is to say the person must experience a new birth or the person must be born again. An Individual must genuinely experience new birth to experience the book of Colossians 1:13 said.
That book of Colossians 1:13 says, “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son”: that is to say, the individual must first be delivered from the kingdom of darkness and be translated into the kingdom of His dear son.
No one who is still in the kingdom of darkness can successfully wage war against the kingdom of darkness. But this is exactly what is happening today as many that are still under the domain of the devil but claim that they are born again.
Secondly, to fight the good fight of faith, we must know fully our enemy. The book of Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”.
The above bible reference stated that we are not wrestling or battling against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”.
It is unfortunate that lots of Christians failed to recognize their true enemy they are fighting . As a result, they ended being victims and casualties of war.
You and me, are we going to stand our ground and fight the good fight of faith or become victims and casualties of war? The choice is yours.
End of part one, please keep a date with us for part two. Shalom.
