As an individual, please I wish that you pause for a moment and reflect on the totality of your life. Is your life what it should be? Is it glorifying God or Satan?
Yes, we claim to be God’s children and are worshiping God yet in actions many are denying Him. Our mouths are saying one thing but our hearts and actions are saying another thing different.
It is highly unfortunate and the bane of our society today is that many people who claim to know and worship God are totally ignorant of who Gods is and as well who they are themselves.
The Bible made a profound statement in 1 Peter 2:9 which says, “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
The book of 2 Corinthians 5:20 equally says, “Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
Looking at the above two references, the following were mentioned that the Bible said we are:
1. We are a chosen generation. 2. We are a royal priesthood
3. We are a holy nation, (4). We are His own special people,
5. We are ambassadors for Christ.
6. We have been called out of darkness into His marvelous light;
Please this post is not to judge anybody but to help us to examine ourselves as 2 Corinthian 13:5 puts it, examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves.
Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? The book of Galatians 6:4 says, “But let each one examines his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
Can it be truly said of you as an individual that what 1 Peter 2:9 said is true of you? That is, can your lifestyle really prove that you are among the chosen generation?
This self-examination is important because the book of 2 Timothy 2:19 says, Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
Apart from being a chosen generation, the bible said that we are a royal priesthood and a holy nation. That goes to confirm what 2 Timothy 2:20-21 says,
“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor.
Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.
Yes, we claim to be children of God, a royal priesthood, can it be said of us that we are a clean vessel of honor sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work?.
Moreover, 2 Corinthians 5:20 said that we are ambassadors for Christ and have been called out of darkness into His marvelous light; Are we really an ambassador for Christ?
In addition, we have been called out of darkness into his marvelous light. In other words, are we living in the light, or are you among who Psalms 82:5 is talking about?
“They do not know, nor do they understand; they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are unstable.
Yes, there are people 2Timothy 3:5 says “are having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away”.
In summary, I wish to state that the Bible should form the standard for our living not the acceptance of the society or not.
I said this because there are many things that the societies accepted today as norm, but they are abominations before God. Such thing should never be said of us.
Since we are chosen generation, we should not live degenerated lives, as well, we should live as ambassadors for Christ. We should never allow the devil to corrupt us with pleasures of sin
Rather, we should deed 1 peter 1: 15 that says, “But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct. Shalom!!
