Paul was an apostle whom God used to do exploit for the kingdom of God. He flowed in unspeakable spiritual insights or revelations. No wonder he single-handedly wrote over one third of the New Testament.
Apostle Paul was able to do all these because he was a yielded vessel unto the Lord. He made a profound statement in 2Timothy 1:3 saying, “I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;
He equally said in Acts 24:16 saying, “And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offense toward God, and toward men.
Also, in the book of 1Timothy 3:9, in his letter to Timothy, he advised him by saying, “Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. Faith is a mystery and it takes holding this mystery of faith in a pure conscience for it to deliver.
He equally said something in 1 Corinthians 2:4 saying, “And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
It is unfortunate that many Christian especially some ordained men of God had jettisoned holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. As such, some are living lifestyles that suggest that they have silenced their conscience and that is why some are involved in many abominable things.
Apostle Paul admonished us in Ephesians 5:3 saying, “But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; Any man of God or a Christian in general with a pure conscience will never do what some Christian especially some men of God are doing these days.
For instance, I was dumbfounded to learn about a seasoned man of God caught on camera licking the va3ina of a lady not even his wife. The same applies to some men of God swimming in sinful pleasures as some are now accused of rape.
As a worker in the vineyard of the Lord, Paul also admonished us in 2 Timothy 2:15 saying that we should “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
No man who does not hold the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience can ever be able to present yourself approved to God.
One other reason why we need to hold the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience is because of what Jesus said in Mathew 7:21-23 which says, “Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Moreover, any Christian especially men and women of God who does not hold the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience, the devil will surely cloth him or her with a filthy garment as he clothed Joshua in Zechariah 2:1-3.
That Zechariah 2:1-3 said, “And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.
And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire? Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel.
In addition, holding the mystery of faith not with pure conscience is like building on other foundation or building on the foundation with wood, hay, straw.
Paul said in 1 Corinthians 3:11-15 in which he said “For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw,
Each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
As a steward in the vineyard of the Lord who claims to be serving the Lord, my candid advice to you is to consciously heed the advice of Paul by holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience if our services are to amount to anything. Shalom!
