Are you truly a man of God? In other words, are you sure that God’s calling is upon you or that you called yourself or that some men/women are the one that called you a man of God?
I am asking this question and expect that you answer the question to yourself as I wish to address true men of God, men who God has called into the five fold ministry, men God as well anointed.
Men, who may also have the privileges of allowing the oil of ordination, come upon them. If you are truly a man/woman of God, please take the time to read this post.
Having said that, please join me as we learn from Apostle Peter and Paul. Apostle Paul and Peter were called as you and I were called, so we need to learn from them if we wish to succeed as true men of God.
First, Apostle Paul said in the letter he wrote to Timothy as can be seen in 1Timothy 3:9 that men of God should hold the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
He said in 2 Timothy 1:3a that himself serves God with a pure conscience, “I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with a pure conscience”.
He repeated it in Acts 23:1 “And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day”.
Also in Acts 24:16, he said, “And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offense toward God, and toward men”.
In other words, any true man of God must serve God with a pure conscience. However, the opposite is the case of what is obtained with many so-called men of God.
This is because these days, the actions and utterances of some men that call themselves men of God is nothing to write home about.
In fact, if you watch or hear some men that answer men of God, it appears that what Apostle Paul said in Timothy 4:1-2 is true of them.
“Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons. Speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron.
For instance, I wept for what was written and the video of one seasoned man of God who was shown to be speaking in tongue while sucking the va3ina of a lady that was not his wife.
By my judgment, it seems that it may not be the first time he was doing it and that is why he was able to be captured easily like that. I said it because the pastor may have silenced the voice of the spirit of God and his conscience.
His action was the height of mockery of God and the Holy Spirit because his speaking in tongues could portray that the Holy Spirit came upon him while doing that rotten thing.
I said it because some men of God are seriously praying to God to touch their tongue with a coal of fire from the Holy altar of God. It could appear that Angel of God flew and touched his tongue while performing that rotten act.
As a man of God, Apostle Paul also cautioned us as men of God or children of God at large in what he told the Thessalonians as can be seen in 1 Thessalonians 5:22 “Abstain from all appearance of evil”. The said pastor toiled with sin and that is why he was turned to a toil.
Having said these about that man of God, let’s come to you, if God should x-ray your personal life and your own actions, could it be said that such actions/utterances were done with a pure conscience?
If you are a true man of God, you should, therefore, learn from what happened to that man of God and as Paul cautioned us in 1 Corinthians 10:12 “Therefore let him who thinks he stands to take heed lest he falls”.
Talking about serving God with a pure conscience, will God say to you,”Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ Mathew 25:23.
Or will He tell you, “I tell you, I do not know you where you are from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity. Luke 13:27.
As a true man of God, it is pertinent that we give heed to what Apostle Paul told Archippus in Colossi ans 4:17 which says, “And say to Archippus, “Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it.”
Apostle Paul also told Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:16 “Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you”.
What we have learned from Apostle Paul as men of God is that we should really “Take heed to ourselves and to the doctrine if we are ever going to succeed as men of God. It is only taking heed of ourselves that we can fulfill our destiny and ministry.
Coming to the lessons we need to learn from Apostle Peter if we are to succeed in ministry as men of God. We can see his admonition in 1 Peter 4:7 “But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer”.
In the above verse, Apostle Peter gave us three ingredients that are needed in the life of any true man of God if he is to succeed as a man of God. The three ingredients are been sober, watching and prayer”.
The reason why some men of God today are falling victims and causalities of war is that they are not sober in spirit, they are not watching and as well, they are not prayerful.
Talking about been sober, he repeated it in 1 peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
Apostle Peter also repeated it in 1 Peter 1:13 “Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
Summarizing the lessons every true man of God should learn from Apostle Peter and Paul, is that we should serve God with a pure conscience. We should also be sober and watchful in prayer.
These four things must be in any man to prove that he is a true man of God. Will you past the test could it be proved that you are a true man of God?. Shalom
