In this life, there are two worlds, the Spirit world, and the physical world. However, it is the spirit world that controls the affairs of the physical world as it is more real than the physical world.
In most cases, it is men/women who command or control the affairs of the spirit world that rules/take charge or commands the affairs of men /women in the physical world.
It is obvious; to be in command of the spirit world is the result of divine intervention of spiritual entities in the affairs of men in the physical world either positively or negatively.
That is to say, those spiritual interventions can be positive or negative. Positive spiritual intervention is the intervention of God and the host of heavenly beings while negative interventions are the interventions of satan and the host of the kingdom of darkness.
Any of the two interventions by the two forces occurs when men/women are obedient to spiritual instructions which provoke any of the interventions.
In this segment, we shall be looking at the interventions of the Almighty God in the affairs of men as a result of obedience to Godly instructions.
In the first instance, we must be in a position to be hearing or receiving instructions from God (spirit of God) directly or indirectly before we can think of obeying the instructions.
To this end, we need to train our spirit man to be able to be hearing from God directly even though this is very difficult as it involves a lot of things and prizes to pay.
This is because one must be a clean or worthy vessel before God will undertake to be speaking to him or her. Another is to be in a position to recognize the voice of the spirit of God.
This is paramount importance because some are running and obeying the voice of demonic forces which they mistook as the voice of the Holy Spirit.
Talking about hearing from God, it is like a transistor radio or a decoder and satellite receiver which we must have before we can pick signals of transmissions that are going on.
Moreover, despite our having the transistor radio or decoder/satellite receivers, the only way we can receive the transmissions that are going on is by turning to the right channels and frequencies.
To this end, what is available to most of us is to hear and obey the voice of God that comes to us indirectly from the mouth of those that hears from God, those who are the mouthpiece of God.
Look for instance what happened in 1 King 19: 11 – 13 where God told Elijah, “Go out and stand on the mountain before the LORD.”
And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind;
And after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake, and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire and after the fire a still small voice.
So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
The second illustration is from what happened in Exodus 19:10 – 20 which talked about what happened the day God wanted to speak directly to the Israelite.
Specifically, God gave Moses the condition in Exodus 19:10 – 11 of what must be in place before He can come and speak to the people.
“Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes. “And let them be ready for the third day. For on the third day the LORD will come down upon Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.
See more conditions in Exodus 19: 14 – 15 “So Moses went down from the mountain to the people, and sanctified the people, and they washed their clothes. And he said to the people, “Be ready for the third day; do not come near your wives.”
The first lesson to learn from the encounter above is that men and women that want to be hearing from God must be clean and ready.
From what happened above, Moses gave instructions to men not to come close to their wives. That is why it is ridiculous to see people living in iniquity (immorality) yet claiming that God is speaking to them.
See the reaction of the people in Exodus 20:18 – 19 “Now all the people witnessed the thundering, the lightning flashes, the sound of the trumpet,
And the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off. Then they said to Moses, “You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speaks with us, lest we die.”
The second lesson to learn from Exodus 20:18 – 19 is that if we are not in a position to hear God directly, we must be ready and willing to hear God’s instructions indirectly from the mouthpiece of God.
Having laid the foundation about hearing from God, which is necessary before we can obey Him?
We shall form the next post look at the result of God’s interventions in the affairs of men by their obedience to divine instructions.
Keep a date with us as we will continue our discourse in our next post. Shalom!
