Unfortunately, this article in reality may not be beneficial for everybody, as it is directed at those who already had the basic knowledge and understanding of the mystery of tithing in the first place.
Here, we will seek to gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of the mysteries of tithe. What I said above is a result that before one can seek or think of gaining a deeper knowledge and understanding of the mystery of tithe or tithing. He/she must be in the covenant and have had the basic knowledge and understanding of this covenant practice or mystery in the first place.
While on earth, Jesus Christ once looked at his disciples and told them in Mathew 13:11 saying, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given”.
While it is given to us believers to know the mysteries of the kingdom, and tithe being one of these mysteries of the kingdom, it is highly unfortunate that many believers are celebrating their ignorance of this mystery.
Another unfortunate issue is that even some pastors who ought to know and understand this mystery better are equally ignorant of this covenant practice or mystery.
For that reason, it is a waste of time to argue with people who are not paying tithe or against paying tithe. Rather, I pity such people for their ignorance, which includes pastors and counsel that they should first try to gain basic knowledge and understanding of this mystery.
I wish therefore to refer such people to our earlier articles on tithe or tithing. These articles could help them to gain basic knowledge and understanding of this mystery.
As such, this segment of our discussion is therefore for sincere believers who had already gained the basic knowledge and understanding of this covenant practice or mystery. Such persons are sincerely paying their tithe, but may not be getting the full benefit of their obedience.
It is such people, that I pray for, that God could use these posts to open their eyes as to gain deeper knowledge and understanding of this covenant or mystery, so that their obedience would not be in vain.
One unfortunate issue is that there are believers that are paying their tithe, but non tithers or those not paying tithe and even unbelievers are far better off than them. That is the reason such people need to seek deeper knowledge and understanding of this mystery.
In view of this, if you are paying tithe but feels that you are not getting commensurate returns for your obedience, then this post is for you. In other words, you need to seek to gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of this mystery.
To this end, the first question you require to ask yourself is, “am I paying my tithe correctly?. This question is necessary because you don’t just pay any amount as tithe and expect to get the necessary return or the full benefit for your obedience.
Moreover, I wish to point out that some people who claim to be paying tithe but are not getting any benefit for their obedience are dead wrong. This is because their problem is their ignorance or their inability to not know how to access the blessings that God poured out on them for their obedience.
That is to say that it is not that God did not open the windows of heaven and poured out a blessing on them. However, the issue is their inability to access the blessing already poured out on them by God.
For avoidance of doubt, one deep knowledge and understanding such people needs to have is the knowledge and understanding of what happens between the time they paid tithe and the time of receiving the benefits for their obedience in tithing.
As said earlier, the major issue of most believers is their ignorance or their inability to access the blessing God promised to pour out on them. God is ever faithful or too faithful to fail.
For instance, if I promise to bless you with one million dollars and made a monetary transfer to your account of the same amount. If you don’t know of my transfer and as such fail to access that amount. It is because you lack the understanding of what to do or don’t know how to access the money, you may still suffer lack and want.
Until you access that money in your account, it will never be beneficial to you. That is exactly the case with tithing. Some believers are paying tithe and expecting God to begin to prosper them by reason of their obedience, but get frustrated if nothing happened.
The reason is that some are praying and expecting God to throw money to them from heaven. Please understand that if God throws money for you from heaven, that money will be a counterfeit, as God will never do that.
Please get this right, God never promised to prosper us for paying our tithe, rather He promised to open the window of heaven and pour out to us a blessing. However, it is our absolute personal responsibility to know how to access the blessing.
It is really unfortunate that many believers are blaming God, while in actual sense their problem is with their inability to access the blessings. For instance, Deuteronomy 8:18 gave an interesting reading saying, “And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day”.
Here, despite that, God had given us the power to get wealth, but it is our personal responsibility to use the power. It is only those who choose to make use of this power that gets wealth, while those who fail to use this power will remain in lack and wants.
While writing this article, I stumbled upon some video clips of messages of some men of God, which I feel could boost your knowledge and understanding of the mystery of blessing. We will discuss the mystery of the blessing in a separate article, so watch out.
The first video is captioned, “Why Are Some Christian Poor” by Pastor Charles Osazuwa And Rev. Olumide Emmanuel. The second video is equally captioned, “Why Christians Are Poor” by Apostle Joshua Selman.
In essence, what I am trying to say is that we all need or seek to have a deeper knowledge and understanding of what the blessing is and how to access the blessing.
This is the end of part one, we shall continue our discourse in part two, so keep a date with us. Shalom! Please, GO HERE to read part 2.
