This is the second part of our discussion on the topic “Soaring higher in life like an eagle”. I hope that you have read part one for a better understanding? If not GO HERE to read part one.
I wish to start this part two by pointing out my observation. A look at the top 10 leading wealthy people on earth today, it is confirmed that none of them is a professing Christian. That goes to confirm that wealth and success does not answer to prayers.
If wealth and riches do answers to prayers alone, then Africa would have been the richest continent in the world because they are so religious and can equally pray. However, the reverse is the case as Africa seems to be the poorest continent on earth.
Looking at the behavioral pattern of Africans in general and my country men and women in particular, it touches me to join in asking what is wrong with the African men/women.
As pointed out in part one, we Africans are so religious. As well, we desire and dream to be wealthy and successful yet we are not ready and prepared to pay the necessary prize to achieve that purpose.
For that reason, most of the citizens of African Countries are living far below poverty line despite their rich deposit of mineral and natural resources?
The point is that apart from poor political leadership, most of us Africans, have lazy attitude toward personal capacity building. For that reason, we celebrate our ignorance as we claim to know what we don’t know.
I said this because it seems that we don’t value knowledge and understanding that aids personal capacity building. We also as well waste our precious time on irrelevancies that does not add anything to our destiny.
This is a fact as most youths are not ready or willing helpful articles or books to build their personal capacity. That brings us back to the subject of our discussion. The question that keep begging for an answer is the reason some people soaring are higher in life while some are not?
We saw in part one that those soaring higher in life are men/women that are in command of wisdom, knowledge and understanding while most of other people are besieged by mountain of ignorance.
No wonder even God lamented in Hosea 4:6a saying, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”. He also said in Psalms 82:5 saying, they do not know, nor do they understand; they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are unstable.
Having said that, we need then to strive and take personal responsibility to build personal capacity as to take possession of wisdom, knowledge and understanding if we are ever going to join in soaring higher in life like eagle.
For that reason, we must personally get committed in warring against ignorance. To do that, we must heed the counsel of wise Solomon by what he said in Proverbs 23:23 saying, “Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding”.
To this end, it must really cost us time, effort, pleasures and as well as resources if we are to take possession of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
If we are Christian, that is we have personal relationship with God, we are privileged because this wisdom, knowledge and understanding come from above.
For instance, the book of 1Kings 4:29-30 said this of Solomon, “And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore”. And Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt.
However, this wisdom God gave to Solomon did not come in a platter of gold. Solomon really paid a prize that made God to pay him a supernatural visitation. See what he did in 1King 3:3-4 And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places.
And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.
It was Solomon’s encounter with God that resulted in God releasing such wisdom, knowledge and understanding. As Christians, I said we are privileged because we have the opportunity to seek for God’s divine and supernatural encounters.
What then is wisdom? Wisdom is said to be the right application of knowledge. As for understanding, it is said to be the right combination of information.
The problems with majority of people is that they erroneously or mistake raw and unprocessed information as knowledge. Some others, they have knowledge in areas not relevant to their need.
For instance, a medical doctor who is a general surgeon, will you because he has knowledge of medicine you will go to him to prescribe drug for your eyes problem?
Or will you go to him to perform surgical operation on your eyes? If you do that, you may likely go blind. It is just like that, most of the knowledge we need is spiritual knowledge but we keep celebrating say our academic knowledge instead.
To this end, we must be spiritually minded to take hold of spiritual knowledge. For that reason the devil try to manipulate us as to prevent us from gaining spiritual knowledge and understanding .
The devil does that by using pleasure and entertainments to becloud and blindfold us. Often, we think that we are enjoying especially $exual pleasure while as devil is robbing of something greater.
Of a truth, I gained knowledge from the apostle Johnson Suleiman that really transformed my life. In that message, he asked, “of the many years of indulging in pleasures and entertainments, what tangible thing has they added to our destiny”?
For instance, the devil presents to us the avenue and opportunity of enjoying $exual pleasures but fail to let us know what we stand to lose after enjoyment. For that reason, i often ask, “after pleasures and entertainment, what next”?
IF you don’t know this, please take note of it, most of the $exual encounter we had, it is when the devil envisage something glorious coming our way. We feel that we enjoyed ourselves while as we lost greater thing.
The devil wanted use that to rob Joseph in the bible of his glorious destiny using Potiphar’s wife as seen in Genesis 39 . Joseph escaped that trap and God rewarded him as he eventually soared very high in life afterwards.
This is where we end the part two. Please keep a date with us as we will continue next in part three. Shalom!
