One of the issues that crashed and still crashing marriages is marriage incompatibility. If you observe closely the relationship between couples in some marriages, you will clearly see that marriage incompatibility exists in such marriages.
That is the reason, you often hear couples whose marriages had crashed say “the cause of our marriage failure was irreconcilable differences”. From irreconcilable differences, the next is “my marriage to him/her was a mistake, I regret marrying him or her”.
When couples are incompatible in their marriage relationships, it is then that you will surely see certain vices that could crash such marriages.
Such vices are inferiority complexes, distrust and disrespect for each other, domestic violence, various forms of abuses, infidelity or extra marital affairs and many more.
In other words, in marriages, we may have spiritual incompatibility, social incompatibility, incompatibility in academic qualification, financial incompatibility, sexual incompatibility and incompatibility in age etc.
Is there any way any of the above is obtained in your marriage? Please I assure you, there are solutions, and you should not allow such to crash your marriage, neither are you to endure your marriage instead of enjoying it.
Of a truth, spiritual incapability seems to the greatest of the incompatibility causes of marriage failure today in our society. Often, we are the cause as most people clearly saw spiritual incompatibility coming but closed their eyes and entered into such marriages.
I said this because we are the one that made choices of whom we got married to. Most people having the problem of spiritual incompatibility in their marriages is because they disregarded the bible instruction as given in 2 Corinthians 6:14-15 which says “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers.
For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?
A situation in which a born again and dedicated brother willingly and decided to marry a lady who is but a daughter of Jezebel. Or a dedicated born again sister but decided to accept the hands a man who is a known unbeliever as a husband.
When this happens, one may want to go for a prayer meeting in the church while the other partner’s interest may be to go to a nightclub. One may desire to go to church on Sunday but the other may say no.
Those who are still single, It is necessary that they ensure that they know who they are getting married to, even though the period of courtship is known to be full of deceit and pretences.
This is because here you will see chronic unbelievers but pretend to be born again Christians in order to get born again brothers or sisters to marry. That calls for caution and diligent prayers before you make the choice of whom to marry.
However, at times it does happen that two unbelievers may meet in a nightclub, they fell in love and got married. Along the line in their marriage, one of them may get converted and became a born again Christian.
When this happens, the spiritual incompatibility will surely occur. This situation is the cause of the majority of the spiritual incompatibility in marriages. What then should couple that are besieged by spiritual incompatibility do?
