In Christendom today, there are great controversies, accusations and counteraccusations, claims and counter claims among the ministers of God and Christians in general.
Some Pastors claim to be better than others and their church better and bigger than others. As a result, many new believers are confused, not knowing what to do, what to believe and what not to believe, the pastors to follow and who not to follow.
In fact the gospel of Jesus Christ are so watered down that false gospels seems to thrive more than the true and real gospels.
For that reason, false or fake pastors are now having more followers or members more than the true men of God or pastors.
More so, some sorcerers has camouflaged as pastors using the spirit of divination, sorcery and enchantment to deceive their followers, including the people of God who mistook their feat as miracles.
Moreover, some real men of God are been disgraced because they lack the power of God as they are not able to pay the prize and as well as lack the knowledge of what to do to secure the manifestation of the power of God.
As said, one of the reason there are higher levels of confusion in Christendom is because both the true men and women of God and as well as the sorcerers, witch doctors and spiritualists are using and quoting the same bible and equally speaks similar languages as well.
For that reason, the greater numbers of Christians are confused in life, not knowing their left from their right because these greater numbers lacks the true knowledge of the Bible.
The book of Psalms 82: 5 best described them which says, “They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course”.
As such, many Christians are so spiritually blinded and walking in darkness even though they claim to know it all. They are been deceived and they walk about deceiving others.
To this end, what is going on in Christianity today, if you go by what Jesus said in Mathew 7:21-23, then there is surely going to be big surprises in the last day.
According to Jesus, He made it clear that,”Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils?
And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Having said that, how then do we know a true Christian or true man of God to avoid been deceived? Of course, we can know a true Christian or man of God by their fruits.
Jesus said in Mathew 7:16 and 20 “You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? “Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
In other words, you don’t know a true Christian or man of God by giving accurate prophecies, performing of the so-called miracles of healing and deliverance, even though a true man of God should do all these.
A true Christian should be confirmed to be walking and working with the Bible as the standard. Any man or woman who is not walking with God cannot be said to be working for God.
Apostle Paul equally told in Acts 24:16 that a true Christian or man of God should always have a conscience void of offense toward God, and toward men. “And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offense toward God, and toward men”.
Moreover, Jesus was very clear by what he told the woman of Samaria in John 4:23,“But the hour cometh and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him”.
As a Christian or a pastor, the person that follows you or you are following, is he/she worshiping God in spirit and in truth to be told what Jesus told the servants in Mathew 25:21,
“His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
Or will Jesus tell you what was told the servants in Luke 13:27 “But He will say, ‘I tell you I do not know you where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.’
In addition, Paul said in 2 Timothy 2:19 which says, “Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
What I am trying to say is that it does not matter who you are or who you claim to be, , who is following you or who you are following. The important thing is that “God knows those who are His”.
Moreover, those who worship God in Spirit and in truth are those the Bible regards as walking in the Spirit as opposed to those walking in the flesh.
Paul admonishes us in Galatians 5:16 saying “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh”. See also Galatians 5:25 “if we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
To walk in the Spirit is to mind the things of the Spirit while to walk in the flesh is to mind things of the flesh. Romans 8:5 equally said,
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
One danger of not walking in the Spirit is that Romans 8:8 said, “So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
We will see another danger in what Romans 8:13 warned us, “For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live”.
Apostle Paul equally made a remark in Romans 8:9 “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man has not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
In closing, I wish to ask you this personal question, are you worshiping God in Spirit and in truth and are you walking in the Spirit or in the flesh? After your time on earth, what will Jesus tell you on the last day?
