As the storm of coronavirus pandemic rages on earth, the faiths of many have failed, and some are failing been overthrown by the raging storms.
However, as long as Jesus is with us, we shall surely cross over as his disciples’ crossed over in Luke 8:22-25 Now it came to pass on a certain day That he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.
But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake, and they were filled with water and were in jeopardy.
And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was calm.
And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! For he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.
A look at what happened above; Jesus asked where is their faith? That means that the state of our faith is important as it determines if we are to overcome the storm as to cross over.
That is the reason Jesus once looked at Peter and said to him in Luke 22:31-32 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
“But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”
If we are ever to cross over despite the storm, then we must ensure that don’t allow our faith to fail because the devil will surely launch an unprecedented onslaught against our faith.
One way he succeeds in doing so is by ensuring that we are defiled which makes the spirit of God leave us which then makes us to be valuable too his attack.
This calls for conscious efforts to guide our faith from failing as faith failure is destiny failure. Remember what happened in 1 Samuel 17,
Talking about Goliath, despite his military might, he, first, defies his opponent before engaging them in battle. 1 Samuel 17:10.
Moreover and as said earlier, the devil will do everything to ensure that he counters our faith by ensuring that we are defiled. The reason is that he knows that God cannot walk with us once we are defiled.
Please take a look at what happened in Zechariah 3:1-4 “Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him.
And the LORD said to Satan, “The LORD rebukes you, Satan! The LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebukes you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?” Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments and was standing before the Angel.
Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, “Take away the filthy garments from him.” And to him, He said, “See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.”
What the above is trying to teach us is never to allow the devil to defy us by clothing us with a filthy garment. Once you get defied with iniquity, you automatically get clothed with a filthy garment.
Rather, we need to work on our faith to ensure that we possess a very strong faith to withstand the onslaughts of the devil using the coronavirus pandemic.
Moreover, Apostle Paul encouraged us in Ephesians 6:16 which says, “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked”.
Our faith is the only active shield against the onslaughts of the devil to prevent us from crossing over. We shall live to tell the story of how we overcome.
Yes, we are crossing over but ensure that Jesus is with you in that ship. As long as Jesus is with you, he will surely rebuke the storm and the winds of the coronavirus pandemic.
See you on the other side after the storm as the raging of the storm will soon be over. Shalom.
