Life is so precious to be wasted like that, so I feel highly disturbed whenever I hear or read about young and promising men and women who wasted their lives by committing suicide over the issue of marriage.
It seems that those who waste their lives lack the understanding of who they are and the provision God had made for them.
One of the most disturbing was the news of a 17-year-old boy who committed suicide because a 12 years old girl turned or rejected his marriage proposal.

Also in July 2015 it was on the internet that a man drank rat poison because his fiancée dumped him for another man. http://pulse.ng/gist/cant-take-it-man-drinks-rat-poison-after-fiancee-dumped-him-id3995500.html
What about a 31-year-old lady who hanged herself after struggling to cope with seeing her friends get married while she failed to find a partner.
This can be seen http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3513544/Bridesmaid-31-hanged-struggling-cope-seeing-friends-married-failed-partner.html.
Moreover, news had it that a hospital administrator killed herself when depressed and after worrying that she was about to turn 30 with no husband or children http://metro.co.uk/2015/02/11/woman-commits-suicide-because-she-was-unmarried-and-had-no-children-by-30-5058139/.

Again, pulse.ng carried the gist of some tragic death of some young men and women who committed suicide because men or women left them for other men or women:

As said, those who waste their lives because of the issue of marriage lack the understanding of whom they are and the provision God had made for them.
This is because God clearly stated in the book of Jeremiah 29: 11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end”
God has a plan for us and His plan is to give us an expected end. To get to God’s expected end for us, we have to follow His plan and purpose for our lives.
We should realize that God has a perfect choice for us. Moreover, our timing is never God’s timing and our choice may never be God’s choice for us.
Those who waste their lives because men or women abandoned them or rejected their hands in marriage are those who fail to realize that God has a perfect choice for them.
If you are holding something tightly in your hands, you can never get something better unless you let go of what you are holding before you can get something new.
It is the same with marriage, you may love a man or woman dearly, but if it is not the perfect will of God for you to marry, He may cause a disagreement for you to break so as for you to get God’s perfect will.
Obviously, I am a living witness to that. It is not the first woman in my life that I eventually got married to. There is a great difference between our choice and God’s choice for us.
It is when the first relationship ended that I was able to see the current woman I am married to. God knows that I am having the best of time in my marriage with her.
The first lady I had wanted to marry equally got married to another man.
I strongly believe that she is happy in her marriage. Of a truth, we don’t have anything or grudges against each other. We still communicate on phone with each other.
Only God knows what would have happened if we have insisted on marrying each other against God’s perfect will for us?
So, that a man or woman dumped you for another is not the reason for you to waste your life. It may be God’s plan to give you a better man or woman.
Also, there is a live example of a Christian sister. The man who promised to marry her was living abroad.
It happened that the year the man flew into the country for the wedding, instead of the man wedding her; he abandoned her and wedded another lady.
The lady in question nearly committed suicide because of that if not for the timely intervention of her pastor.
It turned out that in less than two years after the man got married, he died of AIDS and before then, his wife had a full-blown AIDS.
When the lady heard the bad news, she started to thank and praise God for saving her from that man. In other words, what she thought as evil was actually God’s plan to save her from death.
There is also another story of another lady from Nigeria. The man who proposed to marry her got recruited into the army as a recruit. As a result, the man dumped the lady. The lady got so devastated as a result.
After the lady was consoled and comforted, she decided to move on with her life. It happened that the city the lady moved to, another man met her in the church and got interested in her.
It was after they got married that the lady realized that the husband was a Colonel in the army.
A few months after their marriage, the husband was promoted to Brigadier and there was a coup in the country and the man was appointed a military Governor of one of the state government.
When the lady and her husband arrived in the state her husband was to govern, she met the army recruit who abandoned her.
This was because the army recruit was one of the army security sent to guard the residence of her husband.
What I am trying to say is that a man or woman abandoning you or rejecting your hands in marriage is never the end of the world.
It may even turn out to be better for you because God may take away something from you for the purposes of giving you something better.
Until I come your way again, remember that you are God’s creature and you are wonderfully made, so never you waste your life over marriage. shalom!
