In God’s kingdom today, there are so many ministers and Christians who are toiling, laboring or working for God, yet they are not walking with God.
In Genesis 6:9 it was said of Enoch, “This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God”.
One thing notable about Enoch is that he walked with God. It is walking with God that made him live holy life as it was said of him that he was a just man and perfect in his generation.
In Mathew 7:21-23 Jesus said something about those who feel that they are working for God but invariably God didn’t know them. He emphasized what will happen in judgment day in the last days..
Saying that Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
It is unfortunate that there are many people who claim to be working for God but are not walking with God. It is those people that are doing abominable things in the name of working for God.
Walking with God is more important than working for God. At a time, it was recorded in Genesis 17:1 which says, “And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
Working for God is no big deal as anybody can claim to be working for God. Like Paul said in Philippians 3:18 saying, “For many walks, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
Whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame-which set their mind on earthly things?
What the above verses are trying to bring out is that there are some who claim to be working for God while as they are working for their belly as it is said, their god is their belly.
On the other hands, people who are walking with GOD, they are people Apostle Paul talked about in the book of 2 Corinthians 6:17 which says, “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
Apart from Enoch, Moses was another man that walked with God, in Exodus 24:18 it was recorded that he spent forty day and forty night on the mountain.
And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and got him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights
Also, Exodus 34:28-30 said, So he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.
Now it was so, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai (and the two tablets of the Testimony were in Moses’ hand when he came down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone while he talked with Him.
So when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him. And whenever the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone, and then Moses would put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with Him.
It is glorious to walk with the Lord as when you walk with the Lord, the glory of God envelops you. When a man or woman walks with the Lord, he or she will strive to live holy.
When a man or woman walks with the Lord, he /she will never mess up with anything unholy. That is why I asked myself if one great man of God that was cut on camera licking the vaqina of a lady that was not even his wife if he is walking with God?.
Walking with God will constrain you from taking certain actions that will not bring glory to God.
In closing, I wish that we learn from 2 Timothy 2:19-21 which says, “Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,”
And, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor.
Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.
The summary of the above is that a man or woman who wish to work for God meaningfully, he or she must ensure that he or she walks with God by ensuring that he or she is sanctified before he or she is useful for the master. Shalom!
